This opera house is located in the very center of the city of Austria, Vienna after which this opera house was named. Construction Of The Vienna State Opera
The construction of the Vienna State Opera was first initiated in the year 1861 and was completed by the year 1869. Some of the most renowned architects like Eduard van Null and August Sicard von Sicardsburg drew up plans for its architecture. The building was built very much like the Neo – Renaissance style. Its interior was magnificent with stones collected from areas that were close to being obsolete. An amazing marble staircase goes all the way up to the first floor from the main entrance of the building. A variety of fine and expensive marble was used for the construction of its interior. However the public response was not very positive to its completion. By the end of the World War 2 the building had been somewhat destroyed due to the bombing by Americans. By the year 1946, the Austrian Federal Chancellor whose name was Leopold Figl finally decided that the opera house will be fully restored to its original state and will be used for holding operas again.
